A transit day where we drove from Agra to Jaipur. Basically it was controlled weaving and honking for four hours.
An hour or so out of Agra we stopped at Fatephur Sikri, a deserted city and fort built by the Moghul ruler Akbar. It is very similar to the red sandstone fort in Agra, took 8 years to build, and was only resided in for 14 years before the lake dried up and they had to abandon it for lack of water. It was very big and very ornate.
Our guide left us at that point, and caught the bus back to Agra, leaving us in the care of the driver.
A stop for lunch en-route then a free afternoon in our lovely hotel room. Seems that power outages are common all over India - we encountered them here as well.
