Up at a reasonable 6am for a five hour game drive around the park. Zebras, impala, buffaloes and baboons already hardly rate a murmur, but rhinos and giraffes still cause us to stop. However, the highlight of the morning was coming across a pride of 4 lions right near the edge of the road. They obligingly lazed in the sun for 20 minutes or so while we took lots of photos, raising their heads every so often to keep us interested.

Despite our best efforts we have yet to see any leopards, but we have been assured that if we do, we will have seen all of the Big 5, and we can skip all further parks and go straight to Zanzibar for an extended holiday.

Back to the backpackers area to pack up our tents and have some brunch, before heading back towards Nairobi. After another stop for supplies, we arrived at the campsite in Naivasha around lunchtime, where we will be staying for two nights. Luckily we have hot water, proper toilets and showers, and electricity to re-charge.

Most of the others headed off on an optional afternoon hippo boat cruise, while we lazed around the campground and caught up on things. The weather actually gets cool at night, which is something we hadn't expected being on the equator, but it keeps down the mosquitoes. Some of the girls were even shopping for beanies this morning.
