Woke up at 4am to the noise of the Korean tour group in animated conversation around the carriage. I guess that they had no concept that there was anybody else on the train, and at several points during the day they just broke into song. A fairly comfortable night, all things considered, as the trains are much more comfortable than planes. Lots of leg room, seats that go back a long way, leg and calf rests to support you as you sleep, and plenty of room to wander around if you want to stretch your legs.

Not a whole lot to report when all you've done is spend the best part of 24 hours watching the countryside go by. Beautiful scenery on a gorgeous sunny day, and we did get to see Mt Robson, the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, on one of the twelve days in the year that it's visible, but it doesn't really make for good reading. So what can I tell you. Only that we found the Korean guy that Gangnam Style is based on. Lime green polo shirt, bright blue trousers, dark blue blazer, grey shoes, yellow socks, a terrible haircut, and fake Calvin Klein sunglasses. He wandered around the train and sat in random seats which freaked a couple of people out.

Arrived in Jasper almost two hours late, and de-trained (as they call it) with over half the other travelers on the train. Hauled our gear up the road to our accommodation, then found a pub in the town to have a real hamburger, and watch the Stanley Cup (ice hockey) game go to double overtime. Our accommodation in Jasper is a self contained unit in the basement of a house, set up for use during the snow season, and is lovely.
