Drove to Barcaldine for the weekend to celebrate Mandy's birthday.
Barcaldine is a lovely town, principally known for it's role in the 1891 uprising known as the Shearers Strike, one of only two armed insurrections in Australia, Eureka being the other.
Most of the key events took place under the 'tree of knowledge' in the main street, and led to the formation of the Australian Labour Party, later changed to Labor, and the election to parliament of the first 'worker'.
