Slept soundly till about 9:30. The train pulled into Krasnoyarsk (pop 900,000) shortly after, for a half hour break so we could shop and stretch our legs. One of the peddler ladies was selling icecreams on the platform out of her esky, but given that it was -1 deg C and we were wearing hats, coats, gloves and scarves, she wasn't selling much. Not long after Krasnoyarsk, and now being 4 days into the journey, we passed the halfway obelisk.
There's still snow covering the ground, the bare birch trees are still jutting out of the white, and there's only so many times you can hum Lara's theme before something unintended happens - usually from a fellow passenger.
The trials of being a foreigner in a strange land. We bought a packet of biscuits from a vendor at the afternoon tea stop, and when we got back on the train we found that the packet was open, and biscuits were already missing.
