Vienna, Vienna, Austria
Sunday, December 2, 2007

Stretched the legs for an hour in Zürich and hopped on to Austrian airlines flight to Vienna. Only half full. Fine, clear, crisp 9°.  Short hop of about an hour.  Surprisingly, Austrian immigration wasn't a model of efficiency with a long ill-defined queues but eventually got through.  No flights into Vienna have sky bridges, they all use stairs and buses.  Took the air train to the city, and local train to Westbahnhoff which is the station for regional travel.  Walked five minutes to our hostel which was fairly empty.  Went back to the station and made as many of our Eurail reservations on the train as possible, though it seems like Italy doesn't have lots of them available yet.  After Ashley awoke we went for a walk to see some of the sites and shops for a couple of hours, then went out to a local cafe for Wiener Schnitzel's for tea which were lovely.  In bed by 7 p.m. and slept for about 10 hours.
