A fun day. Breakfast at the hotel, then hopped on pushbikes for a tour of the countryside. Drizzled a fair bit. Started by going through the old town. Saw paddy fields being ploughed by buffalo, children at the preschool wanting to be in the photo, and people cooking snails. Rode through the market area, had morning tea at Red Bridge restaurant on the banks of the river, out to CuaDai Beach. Covered about 20 km in 2 1/2 hours. Back hungry and tired for lunch. A pizza for a change. It was an afternoon of fittings, starting with Mandy's Ao Dai, then to Yaly’s to try on suit coats, shirts and pants. Picked up Mandy's wrap and cargo pants, ordered another pair of sandals, bought postcards and scarves, and had cake and coffee for afternoon tea. Back at Yaly’s at 5pm to pick up the completed garments, and paid them to ship them home. Appointment at 6pm to try on Mandy's boots and sandals which fitted perfectly. Off to the post office to send it all home by sea mail, and back into town to drop Mandy at a Vietnamese cooking class. I had a light tea, bought food to the train tomorrow, then back to pick up Mandy’s Ao Dai after embroidery. Picked up the laundry, and turned in to pack it all away in our packs.
If you are visiting Hoi An for clothes, Yaly's is highly recommended. Everything is made to measure, and they have a no-like, no-pay policy, with no deposit, so you can't lose. But everything fitted us really well and we were very pleased. Its all made on the premises overnight.
