Today was our day to explore KL. After a big breakfast we took the light rail to Chinatown and walked up Petaling Road through the stalls, whilst undercover. We bought sandals for Mandy and sunglasses for us both, then visited the interstate bus terminal to check out buses for the morning. About 30 bus companies, all with booths touting for your business. Then walked down to the admin part of town to see the mosque and explore some of the buildings around Merdeka Square which we had seen from the bus yesterday. Back through the central market area of town to maccas for lunch. Mandy thought that her new sandals were so comfortable and cheap that she wanted to buy a second pair.
On to another light rail back to the shopping complex from yesterday which was now bearable. Low Yatt Plaza is six floors of computer, electrical and phone shops. Whilst I browsed, Mandy bought some Chinese knick-knacks for the students. Then next door to the cheap, grotty building which sells pirated computer and video discs where Mandy bought some Barbie computer games (I kid you not). By then we were in the middle of a monsoonal rain storm, so retracing our rail journey we arrived back looking like drowned rats. Back to the Indian restaurant for tea it was so nice.
