Saturday

My guide had basically abandoned me. As my hotel was not far from Tiantan Park where I was scheduled to visit the Temple of Heaven, she decided that I could walk there by myself instead of her spending the day with me. So she had given me the tickets and I proceeded to walk to the park myself. Unfortunately the park is a kilometre square and only one of the four gates will admit foreigners. Needless to say the tourist gate was at the far end of the park, which my guide had neglected to tell me. By the time I got there I was quite exhausted. Needless to say, later on in the tour after walking for a long way I came to the very gate that they wouldn't let me in.

Saw the Temple of Heaven, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Echo Wall. A very nice and interesting park. Finished at the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests before exiting the gate I wasn't allowed into and walking back to my hotel.

Checked myself out and took a taxi to the airport, which isn't as easy as it sounds as most taxis would pull up, look at your luggage and then just drive off. Took the afternoon flight to Hong Kong, and a night flight back to Melbourne.
