Day Trip To Ormiston Gorge

The Mudies decided to move on to the Ormiston Gorge National Park for a few days to explore, while we wanted to hang around to make contact with Wendy McKay, so they packed up camp and we both headed off to the Gorge. Without the caravan behind us we could keep up for once which was a nice change. We saw plenty of damage due to the recent floods, and had to ford several rivers -- only one caused consternation. We visited Simpsons Gap, and spent an enjoyable few hours at Ormiston Gorge. Had our first rain -- although a very minor shower. We bid farewell to the Mudies and returned to Alice Springs. Rang Wendy to find that the floods went through her car, though not her house, and she was marooned at Hermannsburg. Oh well! We had a nice chat instead.
