Quite an early start as we had to have the RV returned at 10am in Denver, so we scrambled to clean the van, do the last minute packing, empty all the waste water tanks, and get on the road.
Fairly smooth going until we hit roadworks on the interstate just on the perimeter of Denver, so after 20 minutes of just sitting there and going almost nowhere, we trusted our GPS system, got off the interstate, and hoped that there was a decent alternative. Luckily there was.
Arrived in time at the depot and unloaded the RV, together with all the other returnees. The RV place is run by Dutch people, and our particular staff member was a young Dutch guy out for a few years of work. The World Cup has now progressed to the semi finals, and The Netherlands are playing in the semi this afternoon, so they are all scrambling to get the vans returned, and checked out again so that they can go and watch the game in the afternoon. Must have turned out to be a frustrating day - The Netherlands lost it in a penalty shootout.
Late morning when all the vans were back in, they shuttled us all to the airport. Had some lunch and, sadly, bade farewell to Brendan as he boarded his flight to Chicago and then on to Buffalo. And, yes, Mandy needed a tissue.
Our flight to Seattle boarded an hour later, and Connie was there to pick us up and take us home for dinner. Lovely to see them both after all these years. After settling in, we had a lovely dinner and chatted till bedtime - well the girls chatted and Dave and I tried to interrupt occasionally.
