Our big traveling day, and it all depended on which way the wind was blowing. Fortunately all flights were operating. Would you believe that the hostel owner had our breakfast and coffee ready when we got down to the dining room at 4am? She then drove us to the bus station to catch the 5am bus out to the airport. Now that's service!
Caught the 7:40am flight to Heathrow (Icelandair on a 757) and arrived on time at 11:40. We made it in and out of Iceland, and around the island, without the volcano disrupting us once! Had quite a layover till our 4pm flight to Dublin (BMI Airbus A319), which was actually planned that way in case of flight delays. We had to go through immigration in London to retrieve our bags, then straight back through emigration to head off to Ireland.
Lobbed onto a local double decker bus to get to our hostel in the middle of Dublin, checked in to our en-suite room in what is a very large hostel, then headed down the road to choose something from the hundreds of cafes and pubs to have for tea.
