Unfortunately, after being up really early yesterday to catch our flight to Dublin, we were kept awake until 2am this morning by marauding Swedish school kids in the hostel, so we didn't get up very refreshed.
However, we joined a 10:30 free walking tour of the city which actually lasted till 3pm so it was pretty comprehensive. The tour itself was good, though we were pretty tired from 4 hours walking. Saw lots of the major city sights - City Hall, Dublin Castle and Tower, Christ Church and the crypt, the Viking Ruins, old city wall, Dublin's Wall of Fame complete with huge U2 photo, Temple Bar, Trinity College and the Book of Kells, the GPO, and St Stephen's Green. We had their history, and that of the Irish and British nation's relationships explained in some detail, so we are a lot the wiser. Finished at the monument to the potato famine that decimated the country - they still aren't back to the pre-famine population some 150 years later.
Maintenance the rest of the day now we have a city with facilities. A full load of washing, and a haircut each.
