Headed off to Leeds this morning. As we weren't staying in the city, we parked our car about 10 minutes out of town and caught a local bus into the city centre.
Walked around for a while, did a lap of the city in the city loop bus, then headed down to the river, past the locks to the Armories Museum, a large collection of armor and weaponry throughout the ages. Saw armor for soldiers from ancient times through to the Gulf war, and armor for animals - principally horses and elephants. There were large models of the battle of Waterloo, histories of rifles and machine guns, and a whole lot else. It occupied four floors of a purpose built museum, so it was very comprehensive.
After lunch in the cafeteria we took the bus back to the car, and continued to Manchester. We're in a hotel in the suburbs, but it's rather nice. Went for a walk in the afternoon, and planned the next few days.
