Up early. Breakfast at motel. Walked to Fort Canning Park. Wandered around till the battle box opened at 10 for underground animatronics tour of the World War II command bunker and surrender of allies to the Japanese in 1942. Walked into town via Funan Mall and Suntech Mall to Raffles Hotel where we had lunch in the Long Room. A coke was eight dollars and fish and chips $20, and these were the cheapest meals! Visited the Raffles Museum, then took the MRT to Orchard Road to spend the afternoon shopping. Saw a stunning exhibition called 'The Earth From Above' -- aerial photography by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Visited the Christmas world and other shops then took the MRT to Merlion Park, Raffles Landing, Parliament House, and Clarke Quay. Finally to Boat Quay for a kebab tea and back to the room. Very sore feet. Over 30,000 steps and seven hours walking. The weather was warm in the morning but showers promptly at 3 PM.
