Had breakfast again on the balcony of the restaurant, under sunny skies and warm breeze. After breakfast we walked down the beach to our secluded cove, and swam and lazed around for an hour or so. Back to the room to pack, organise and check out. Cloaked our packs, and went and camped by the pool for the rest of the day. Had lunch in the restaurant, lots of swims and a few snoozes.
Got the hotel transfer to the Nathon pier, where we caught the last ferry of to the mainland at 6 PM. The sunset we watched on board the ferry was pretty spectacular. Transferred to the bus provided as part of a joint ticket, which took us to Surat Thani. The bus driver unloaded us onto a taxi he had 'arranged' to take us to the station at 100 baht per person but it happened in the middle of nowhere so there wasn't much choice. Tea from 711 ate up a bit of our waiting time, but we still had five hours to wait which is pretty boring no matter where you are. The train was an hour late and eventually arrived at 2:30 AM, after watching a stack of other trains come and go. Thankfully our second-class sleeper beds were still free.
