Caught a taxi from the motel about nine o'clock back to Malacca Central where we made our selection from the variety of bus companies going to Singapore. Read that yesterday's accident claimed the life of the driver, and injured all five passengers. The bus departed about 10 AM. Luxury seating -- only three across. Four hour trip in total. Off the bus on the Malaysian side to walk through the departures then back on the bus. A bit further down it was off the bus again on the Singapore side with all your gear, this time to go through a far more modern immigration hall and customs, then back on the bus again -- each time with less people.
Deposited unceremoniously a bit out of town, and took the MRT to Changi airport, then called the local hotel courtesy bus which picked us up on its next circuit. Checked in at the hotel and had two minutes to run to the room and threw our gear in, before taking the shuttle back to the airport so we could take the MRT into town to do our last-minute shopping.
Had lunch at Swensen's, well actually tea as it was 5 PM. Went shopping at the Funan IT Mall until eight, and bought some headphones and an FM transmitter for Brendan. Last coffee at the Coffee Bean, then MRT back to the airport. Missed the shuttle, so took a taxi from there to the hotel, and spend a bit of time packing.
