Took the subway uptown to Harlem and went to the Abyssinian Baptist church -- a black church in Harlem. A great service. Rev Jesse Jackson spoke, the preacher ranted, the congregation amen'd enthusiastically, the choir sang like angels. About 800 people, and the ushers wore black dress suits, white gloves and carnations, and the women wore old time white nurse uniforms, white shoes and gloves. The service went for two hours, then we went for a tour of Yankee Stadium before Maccas for lunch. Walked through Central Park, down Fifth Avenue and around Times Square, before going home to watch the gridiron playoffs and eat japanese. Saw lots of carriages and horses going around Central Park complete with nappies to catch the refuse.
