Nashville, Tennessee, United States

An easy start to the morning. Took the mid morning train to the Amtrak station where we boarded a Greyhound bus to Nashville. Actually it only went as far as the Greyhound depot where we changed buses. Unfortunately nobody told us that we needed to tag our bags so they refused to load them which created chaos as we went to board. Just managed in time before the bus left. We arrived at teatime, and walked to the motel where we got an uncharacteristically curt welcome. Tea at the Hard Rock Cafe after a cold walk. Freezing conditions north of Greenville to Boston dumped 6 inches of snow and closed airports and roads. There are no buses running north of Atlanta, and many stranded overnight in Greyhound terminals. We were fine going south. As soon as we crossed the border in Tennessee, we encountered lots of supermarket sized shops selling fireworks, which is a huge industry.
