A prompt start to navigate the Intercoastal Highway which is predominantly single lane. Travelled north past Miami to the Sawgrass Mills mall. A huge mall with 2 miles of shops in four big wings. Recorded announcements at every mall entrance telling you which door you entered that so you wouldn't forget. Bought seven pairs of jeans -- 6 for Mandy. Shopped till 5:30 then battled the Miami freeways to Miami Beach. Absolutely packed streets and no parking, so we had to use a public car park and carry all our gear down the street to the motel. A balmy, warm evening as we walked through the streets to find tea. Noticed that couples are very together here. Lots of smiles, arm in arm, holding hands -- even at tables. Talked to Mandy for Valentine's Day late at night.
