Straight onto the Intercoastal Highway towards Key West. A stop for Key Lime Pie at Islamorada. Arrived too early to check-in, so we walked down to the beach and around the coast. Had lunch in the sun from a kiosk. Brendan went for a swim and a walk whilst I sat in the gardens and read in the lovely warmth. After checking in we drove down to the town and walked around. No high-rise development at all. Then just before sunset we drifted down to the Sunset Market. Very like Darwin's Mindil Market -- performers, eating, crafts, all on the waterfront in the warm. There are very few public beaches in America -- especially in Florida. All the good spots are privately owned.
