Greg dived in to town early to be there at nine o'clock to get mail and money out of the machine, whilst Mandy and Brendan took a bus to Palmerston shopping centre to do the final shop. Rendezvoused at Palmerston at 10 o'clock, loaded the van and fled south. With such a late start, none of the towns were the right distances so we had morning tea on the side of the road after half an hour, and lunch a bit after Adelaide River on the old scenic route to Pine Creek.
Called in at Edith Falls late afternoon -- a great place for a camping stop, but a lot of people had the same idea, so we kept going to Katherine and the Springvale Homestead. Another nice set up from the Travel North group with a pool, hotel, motel and caravan park in the grounds of an old homestead.
