Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia
Monday, May 2, 1988

Headed back to Darwin, having morning tea on the banks of the Mary River and arriving in Darwin for lunch. Chose the Shady Glen caravan park at this time, partially for the comparison and partially because the Palms wasn't looked after very well. The Shady Glen is certainly better maintained and cleaned, but claustrophobic by comparison, accentuated by the trees and vegetation.

Revisited the Fanny Bay jail and museum and did the Cyclone Tracy Exhibition properly this time. Also did the wartime museum at East Point which completed the list of things we wanted to do in Darwin.

After Brendan woke we went for the obligatory swim before tea.

I've decided that the differences between hot and humid are: humid is where you need ice to assist the fridge, the soap gets soggy in the holder, a cold shower is so warm that you feel stickier afterwards, and it's warmer in the swimming pool than out.
