My solo day at Expo today. I left about lunchtime, and managed to knock off 19 pavilions before I slumped exhausted into the 9:15 train home. The crowds were down on yesterday, though the queues never seemed to get smaller outside the popular pavilions like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK. Amongst the highlights today were Germany with a fun film presentation, China that had a tremendous display of archaeological finds including some terracotta warriors, USSR which was a treasure trove of displays and information, Queensland with an original train ride, and Fujitsu with a 3D film. Also saw the news broadcast from Channel 10.
Amongst the rank were IBM -- very disappointing and Western Australia -- very commercial. Also saw the United Nations, Ford, Papua New Guinea and Captain Cook which were good, and Pakistan, Singapore and a few others which were only okay. The food was of good quality and reasonably priced. The site was kept very clean, and all the workers seemed very helpful. The trains were plentiful, so all in all it seemed to be running very smoothly. Brendan slept in the caravan as I had the van at the station.
