Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia
Wednesday, June 22, 1988

After taking a photo of Byron Bay and the lighthouse, we headed off. Found a nice cake shop and playground at Woodburn for morning tea. Stopped at Grafton for a petrol purchase, and had lunch on the adjacent seats while watching the passing trains overhead on the tressles.

Arrived at Darlington Park soon after lunch. A four-star park 30 km north of Coffs Harbour, with beach frontage, more than abundant birdlife, aviary, lake, kangaroo, peacocks, ducks, geese, BMX track, two tennis courts, beach frontage, trampoline, three swimming pools, recreation room and to top it all off -- a nine hole golf course! It was great.

Wandered around the park in the afternoon, and visited the beach. The park was managed by a gushing lady who called a Brendan 'darlink'. Oh well, nothing is perfect. Decided that it would be a lovely place to have a permanent van as a holiday house.
