Left at 1:15 after spending the morning at church and ferrying Brendan to baseball try outs. Took us a while to get through the city, and eventually stopped for a late lunch at 2:30 in Sunbury. Brett has set the boys two activities -- to photograph every Sportspower shop we pass (Sunbury was the first), and a scavenger hunt around the country. After a photo in the main street and lunch in the rain at a park, we headed north through Bendigo's outskirts on to the Lodden Valley Highway and towards Kerang. Just short of the town we stopped at a roadside stop for the night. No toilets but sheltered from the traffic on the highway. It was cold and raining, so after a quick tea we all went to bed dressed in tracksuits at 7:30.
The caravan towed well, and we fitted everything in comfortably. Our long-term storage which we wouldn't normally utilise on holidays is all behind the wheels, so the van tends to sway and push the car down hills or when stopping.
The boys travelled well, and Ashley was eager to begin his school work which we deferred until tomorrow.
