Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Sunday, September 15, 1996

Being Sunday, we went to church with Wendy and John at Willeton. A fairly typical Uniting Church service, saved by some nice hymn singing.  Mind you, everybody had the same reaction – why did you travel all this way for?  Seems that 20 minutes in the car is an unthinkable distance for most people in Perth!

Went to Fremantle with Wendy and John for lunch and a walk around.  The weather was dreadful again, so we ran through the rain from place to place.  Some really interesting things to see – the roundhouse and old jail, the maritime museum, the replica of the Endeavour that Captain Cook sailed, some beautiful old shops and pubs, and some large markets like the Victoria market – one of which we spent several hours in eating and shopping.

Back at Gaye's I took the four boys for a game of baseball at a nearby park, before sharing tea and chatting till supper time.  The boys slept inside again.
