Another glorious day in Albany. What is the world coming to? We had a session of baseball practice in the sun, before going up the street to explore the town. A look at a number of old buildings and whale watch shop, then down to the old post office/customs house/courthouse which is a three storey building. Now a museum, we had a fascinating time in the old telegraph section. They had a number of old switchboards that you could use to ring other phones, and directions for using the switchboard itself. In the adjacent room there was a display of old telex machines that you could communicate between, and an area showing old types of phones and exchanges. The boys had a great time, and Ashley said that was the best museum he had been too.
We then drove up to Mt Melville lookout for lunch, and out to the whaling station museum for a tour which was very good. We called in at the old quarantine station where we stayed on our last visit, but it was closed. We had more luck visiting the Gap and Natural Bridge, before normality was restored and overcast skies and rain sent us back to the caravan.
