Mandy and Brendan went to church in the morning, and were lucky enough to get an offer to babysit Brendan at night. Mandy came in for a short time in the morning and took me for a short spin in the wheelchair, though we were fairly clumsy at manipulating chairs and drips stands and gave up after a short time. I was up a couple of times in the morning, though the pethidine didn't help your head when you tried. It seemed the only treatment was to walk as much as possible to coax the bowel into functioning again, but the more the stomach aches the more pethidine you have and the less you feel like getting up.
Mandy brought Brendan in for a late afternoon visit. It turns out that late afternoon was my lousiest time of day. I was feeling fairly terrible by this time, but due to a mixup at the caravan park, Terry didn't come to pick up Brendan until seven o'clock. By then I had a visit from the resident and they decided to put a tube down my stomach to aspirate it and let the accumulating fluids drain. I felt much better immediately though I was very tired and went to sleep very quickly. Mandy had a reassuring chat with the doctor for a while and went home.
