Well I'd been in Cairns for over a week now, and seen virtually nothing except the ceiling of the caravan, the hospital, and the unit, so I requested a Cook's tour of Cairns. We drove the three blocks into the city centre and spent about four hours walking around the shops, with frequent stops. Collected the mail which had been redirected from Townsville and some birthday parcels for Mandy and Brendan. Bought some shorts for me so I could look decent now that I felt it.
When Brendan awoke, we were driven back into town to buy Mandy a birthday cake and candles. Not a very exciting cake, but in the circumstances if Brendan can blow out some candles he'll be happy.
Felt good enough to book a bus tour for tomorrow.
