Did the weekly banking and shopping in the morning. There are numerous coffee shops and the like, and so we picked one for morning tea. We were warned that Byron Bay was populated by a lot of hippies, and judging by the number of health food shops and yoga classes there seems to be quite a number. Amongst the many advertisements in windows are yoga, buddhism, aura balancing, flotation, meditation, massage, crystal therapy and lots more.
After lunch, we did a walk to the hinterland, and played on the beach for a few hours. The caravan park is right on the beachfront. In fact it's very noisy at night, but great during the day. Got Brendan ready for bed after tea, and went for a drive up to see the lighthouse in action -- what an educational day.
