Gave John and Margaret a birthday present for yesterday, and Paul one for next Wednesday. Took a couple of photos and headed into Sydney traffic with the van on. It's a fairly straight run to the Hume and we didn't have any difficulties, except that there were no places to have morning tea. So just before we turned on to the freeway we had morning tea in the left-hand lane of the Hume Highway hoping that merging cars wouldn't clip the caravan.

Lunch in Goulburn at a Mobil service station and on to Canberra to see Brett. Found Holder all right, but didn't have a street directory to find the street, so I rang him from a phone box in the shopping centre. Turns out that if I'd looked out of the box over my right shoulder I would have seen him waving. In any case he beat me back to the van. Zoe and Hayley were up from Melbourne, so Brendan had a lovely time. Julia cooked a lovely dinner which we enjoyed after the kids were in bed, before a mediocre movie.
