Wilmington

Wilmington, South Australia, Australia
Thursday, July 18, 1996

An early start which means we made good distance as we had no shopping to do. Morning tea at a roadside stop.  Having madly eaten fruit, there turned out to be nobody manning the quarantine station – maybe they were at lunch.

Got to Peterborough for lunch, with a busload from Sydney.  After lunch and a walk we pressed on, visiting magnetic hill where cars are drawn up the hill (although it had a tough time with the aluminium caravan).

We aimed for a national park near Wilmington, but when we got to the turnoff we found that it couldn't be accessed by caravans.  Spent a frustrating ¾ hour looking for a free camp and eventually made to do on the side of the dirt road just out of Wilmington.
