Vicious head winds that increased our fuel consumption from 16 to 20 litres per hundred kilometres. We struck a big head wind from the north-east all the way up Horricks Pass that stayed all day and all night.
Our first stop was Port Augusta for morning tea to do our final shop and fuel. Took over half an hour to fill the water tank. We must have an airlock as you have to dribble it in.
Made Woomera for lunch then had a tour of the town and a visit to the space centre museum which is now open all day! The town is having a fair bit of work done on it which surprised us. New houses and paving. Even a new caravan park so you no longer have to camp at the oval and use the sports ground's toilet block.
On through Glendambo to another roadside stop. Had to move the van at 4.00am to point it into the wind to stop the van swaying – it was fierce.
