Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon, Northern Territory, Australia

Finally found why I could not get any water into the caravan tank. In desperation I took the inlet hose off to find an Easter egg that Ashley had hidden which had fallen down the hose and formed a neat washer.  After finally filling the tank we headed off to Kings Canyon.

We booked in at King's Creek station and dropped the van off, before continuing on to the canyon.  Did a five kilometre walk which was lovely.  Again Ashley coped well and better than Mandy.  Took some great photos of the canyon walls and features which was spectacular.

Collected firewood on the way home, and sat around a fire at our campsite after tea.  Enjoyed cuddling under the stars after the boys went to bed.  The campsite was terrific.  No grass but campsites were well laid out with some distance apart.  Rustic facilities with hot water supplied by a wood fire.  The power goes off overnight, but they can give you a helicopter ride!

Very noisy thunder and lightning, and heavy rain overnight.
