Got up in a hurry when we realised that the sun was peeping over the horizon – we wanted to get some sunrise shot of the Marbles. It means that we were on our way by 8:30.
Stopped at Tennant Creek to post some letters, and have some morning tea. Unbelievably, petrol was the cheapest since Port Augusta. After a long break we were off again stopping with the throng at Renner Springs for lunch. Rest stops are pretty few and far between up here.
A tailwind again saw us make good time, pausing at Elliott only to buy petrol and realise that it hadn't improved since our last visit. Kept going and eventually pulled into the only rest stop just past Dunmarra, which was well frequented. Lots of flies, so we got out the fly nets and played cricket.
