Finally made it to Obiri Rock, but not without dramas. The car has been spraying a fine oily mist on to the back window and the caravan ever since we left. I had to put 3 litres of oil in at Alice Springs, and the level has been fine since. Today the sump was empty! Did a quick visit to the Mobil Service station at Jabiru. Luckily the mechanic on duty (Sunday) was able to diagnose it eventually as a leaky oil filter and we departed very relieved but poorer.
Went to Obiri where the mozzies were awful even in the middle of the day. Saw some great artwork, and ended up having a personal ranger guide for most of the visit who taught us more in an hour than we had learned all week. Climbed to the top of the rock for some stunning views and photos.
A quick shop at Jabiru then out to Kakadu Village for the night. Mandy had a clear mission. Get into that renowned pool, and quick. So that's what we did. Funny how chlorine smells funny after natural waterfalls.
