Litchfield National Park - Wangi Falls

Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
Tuesday, August 6, 1996

Left Florence Falls and drove a short way to Wangi Falls (pronounced wong-eye) also in the same park. We stopped for a short walk to the Tolmi Falls on the way, but that gorge is out of bounds past the lookout.

Took one of the last sites at Wangi at 10.00am.  It's definitely the caravan area, as opposed to last night which discouraged them.  Spent the afternoon in the plunge pool, which was the best yet.  1½ metres deep, sandy bottom, large, and with two waterfalls.  Got out the air mattress and paddled under the falls which the kids really liked.

Went to the Ranger’s slide show after tea and saw some sights of the park and its animals.
