Our 'see Darwin in a day' attempt. First we located our friend Thyra in Parap, and left her a message as she wasn’t home. Went to Doctors Gully to find the time for the fish feeding. Finding it imminent we started with that, then went down Darwin Mall for lunch, picked up our mail at the post office and headed out to East Point. Visited the military museum and watched a video about the bombing of Darwin during WWII. Moved on to the museum where we saw the Cyclone Tracy exhibit and some birds and animals. Left the car in the shade and walked to Mindle Beach to sample the famous sunset market. It was great! Better than anything Melbourne can dish up. Bought our tea from a great selection, purchased small didgeridoos for the kids and a shirt for me.
After photographing the sun setting over the water we got some very tired kids back to the tent for bed. Unfortunately it rained at 2am. So there was Dad out putting the fly on their tent while they blissfully slept on.
