Father's Day! Well, we were kind of remote from restaurants, chocolate shops and the like, but the boys made up for it with ingenuity.  I had a trail of clues, beginning with a blindfolded walk to the beach to read my first clue in the sand, and finishing up with a Monty Python CD.  My treat was not having to do dishes all day.  Isn’t luxury all comparative!

We drove to the information centre in the morning, and as a result we decided to do a snorkelling cruise for 1 hour later in the afternoon.  The only trouble was that it was back in Exmouth.  Despite that, it was great.  Ashley stayed on board and had a crew member to himself pointing out fish and coral through the glass bottomed boat.  I did a little snorkelling then joined him, while Mandy and Brendan spent the hour drifting over the reef and having a great time.  Although it was Brendan’s first go, he loved it.

After a view of the communications station (the highest mast was as tall as the empire state building) and the reef from the lighthouse lookout, we joined the other campers at a community barbecue tea.
