Shark Bay is a fascinating place. Amongst other things, it has dolphins to hand feed, one of only two stromatolite locations in the world, one of the largest Dogong populations in the world, the largest sea grass bed in the world, 6000 marine turtles, and many endangered species of animal.
About six dolphins came in to feed this morning, first about 8.00 then again about 10:30. Got some nice photographs, though they didn't want to be patted, and none of us got to feed them. Although not staying the night, we spent most of the day at Monkey Mia, doing the heritage walk and visiting the information centre. After lunch we drove to Eagles Bluff, also part of the park. Had nice views, but we didn’t see anything special. The wildflowers between Canarvon and Shark Bay have been fantastic, even good enough for me to take a photo. The countryside changed today, it’s now rolling hills with trees lining the road instead of shrubs. Great expanses of green grass everywhere.
We have finally conceded that it’s no longer hot – condensation is once again inside the caravan in the morning. Had dew on the car this morning, and the first major clouds since Broken Hill. A roadside stop for the night.
