Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Australia

We finally got to head north out of the coastal rain. A couple of hours drive north to Norseman for morning tea, then another hour or so to Kambalda for lunch in the Lions park.

Reached Kalgoorlie at afternoon tea time, and got the last powered site in a standby area.  The park is one of the few that caters for tourists.  Most of the parks in the town house permanents with very few tourist sites.  Not much water about, so the sites are all gravel.

The boys had a swim in the park’s pool (it’s amazing what a few degrees can do) while I went up the street and organized some film processing.  Ahh yes!  Kalgoorlie is an interesting town – I had forgotten.  A typical mining town with attractions to match in the pubs and up Hay Street.

A walk after tea for an ice cream, then a quick drive down Hay Street to look at the lights.
